I'm fine with people practicing metaphysics, but I think picking up conspiracy theories is a dangerous road to walk. Conspiracy theories encourage not trusting anyone or anything, and I think that can lead to problems for those who believe in them. For example, if you believe the Holocaust never happened, you may be vulnerable to anti-Semitic messaging deliberately trying to white wash history. Other conspiracies like anti-vaxx conspiracies can persuade you to not take the life saving treatment option. While I agree big pharma is a problem and we need to have a serious conversation about how the medical community has trashed people's trust, choosing to accept a conspiracy theory and risk your life isn't worth it. In short, I think believing in aliens is great as long as you're aware that humans are capable of coming up with both amazing and horrifying ideas all on their own
Conspiracy theorists aren't crazy, they are just untrusting or if what I read about them is true, are bottling up what they really feel because it's culturally unacceptable. There are also a lot of them out there, if my assumption is right at least half the population believes at least one conspiracy theory is correct.
I really hate the idea of people buying into theories that ultimately hurt them

I hate (actually love) to bring Stargate into this channel as well, but in that show there is a fictional TV series called Wormhole Extreme that is allowed to exist in order to discredit theories of the existence of the real Stargate project.
(I find it plausible as a tactic.)(edited)
I doubt a peer survey depending on reporting would accomplish anything

The Pineapple is a real metaphysical project of mine, no context, but I'll give a hint, look into Chaos Magick and egregores, perhaps memetics too while your at it
Those two terms explain everything if your willing to spend some time studying, but to give a brief description Chaos Magick is a semi modern form of magick that only requires the belief and will of the magician to work, so one can use fictional beings in rituals. Egregores are a form of spirit made by the collective belief of a group
Liber Null is a slight bit outdated but is well respected, I also reccomend anything by Phil Hine

I personally reccomend for the skeptical the Order of Dagon Field Guide to Scientific Magick by the Official Cult of Cthulhu, been in that group for years, they are a very niche, very specific religious group that I find my philosophies mesh well with
Certainly not for everyone, but its worth a look, especially for their views on magick and science. Books can be slightly pricey but they also have a free online course that covers their beliefs
The official website for the belief-system known as The Cult of Cthulhu. Learn about our teachings, join our communities, and experience the true Cult of Cthulhu.

Funnily enough there is a today only collectors edition of the Dagon manual being sold because its 2/22/22 or will be in a couple hours(edited)
I have a question for both tuppers and hosts. Do you think your consciousness existed before you were "born?" And do you think it will persist after your body's death?
Link to the website is above it, go to shop then to books, should be there, I own an earlier copy, definitely consider it worth the price. I think it would make the skeptical minds here happy in its methods
If someone is in a place where they will accept walk-ins as a way to cope with the difficult situation, does that count as a tulpamancy origin or a traumagenic origin? Where is the cut-off?

For that matter, does accepting a walk-in count as tulpamancy?
Good question, I'm a tulpamancer now as I have deliberately expanded my system, but Shade entered my life before I ever heard of the word. I was convinced I finally snapped(edited)
I don't think I specifically formed to handle trauma, but within the first few hours/days of my existence that was what I was doing, so I say the trauma shaped me into more of the traditional "protector alter".

Does it matter? Changing the label you put on a thing doesn't change the thing.
The more important question is what are you trying to use the label for and does that thing make sense to be categorized with the others wrt that purpose?(edited)

I can relate to that. I'd heard of tulpamancy before but discarded it as nonsense after about 30 minutes of reading. I reconnected what had happened with tulpamancy a few years later. Maybe the idea stuck in my brain somehow, though.
Heh, I'm fairly sure sleep deprived fanfic reading played a role in Shade's coming about, which she still gets embarrassed about to this day. For context the story had a character who's mask started to talk back to them, pretty much a trauma induced alter.

It was a day later that Shade spoke to me for the first time, if it could be called speech. It was more of a mystical vision really.
The brain just formed me as a god-like entity, but it truly developed me as an older brother/father/stronger masculine protective figure for the system
It was literally only for an hour or so that I behaved like that; I was so new to the system ans so impressionable, I immediately sunk into this personality when I was able to interact with the system

I like to think that consciousness is to the universe what wave is to the ocean. It’s not the same thing, but is also not separate, it’s part of how it manifests itself. wave is not really a thing but a label we put on a local property of the ocean, and even when it disappears, the wave is gone, but all the ingredients of it are still there, but in other form, for a new wave to appear. But it’s more poethic sentiment rather than a belief.(edited)
I think consciousness requires a medium, yet is not the medium. A bit like a wave, or Windows 10 (Windows 10 isn't a physical thing, but I still need my SSD to make it work).
